Grant Opportunities

The Fort Scott Area Community Foundation granting process is open to all qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and governmental entities.  Proposals are considered on the basis of how they improve the quality of life for citizens in the Fort Scott area.  We are particularly interested in projects that are sustainable in the future.  Projects that are collaborative are strongly encouraged.

Grant applications are accepted annually during the month of August, evaluated by the committee in September, recommended to the board during the 4th Quarter board meeting, and awarded the last week of October.

The awards ceremony is a celebration of what we do, and grant recipients are encouraged to attend this ceremony.  After all, the sole purpose of the Fort Scott Area Community Foundation is to manage and grow funds for the benefit our community.  When given the opportunity to award grants, the funds are serving the purpose of the donors.
