FSACF 2009 Grants Spotlight

Since October of last year, we’ve been spotlighting some of our 2009 grant recipients in our Futures newsletter. Now, here are all those short articles combined in one easy-to-access blog post!

Good Ol’ Days

The Good Ol’ Days committee received a FSACF grant from the 2009 granting cycle. This grant will be used to provide children’s roving entertainment during the first weekend in June 2010 at Fort Scott’s 29th annual festival. A clown will roam, entertain and hand out free balloons throughout the weekend on June 4, 5, and 6. Since there is no admission charge, all area children, as well as visitors, will be able to enjoy this popular activity.

Tri-Valley Developmental Services

The 2009 grant awarded to Tri-Valley Developmental Services helped fund the completion of the Greenhouse Project through the purchase of an automatic irrigation system for hanging baskets, an additional worktable, a water pump and liner, and winterization of the irrigation system.

Through the services of Tri-Valley, individuals with developmental disabilities become active members of their communities.
